In this article, there is no mention of any lesson plan that a teacher did using the E-readers so I will just explain the benefits of the technology. E-readers can be very useful in the classroom for many reasons. They have many multi-modal features such as video, audio, and hyperlinks. They also give the students access to the internet on the go, which can be very helpful when researching topics of study. They also allow the students to interact with the text by being able to easily edit what they have wrote. They can delete, cut, and copy what they have already written. They also help get students interacted with the text, and it catches their attention and keeps it. This help them focus better and want to learn because they want to be able to use the technology. In the article, they mentioned that when they used these E-readers with a group of 10th graders, they all said that they enjoyed using them over traditional books. They said they liked it because it had many cool tools that they were able to use. For example, they could highlight words that they didn't understand and find the definitions for them by using the internet feature. These E-readers will help motivate the students and focus on the task at hand. There are also many more portable devices that can be used in the classroom. They include the Amazon Kindle, the Sony Reader, iPods, and cell phones. These devices offer endless possibilities for students and teachers, they are portable and allow the students access to many tools they wouldn't otherwise have. Larson, Lotta C.
